Der Entwickler Joseph Albahari hat Release Candidates (RC) 4 für das LINQ-Tool LinQPad 2.0 veröffentlicht. LinQPad unterstützt C#3.0 sowie das .NET-Framework 3.5 und 4.0 und kann interaktiv SQL-Datenbanken mit LINQ abfragen. Darüber hinaus kann LinQPad alle C#/VB-Ausdrücke, Statement Blocks oder Programme ausführen und so als Code Snippet IDE eingesetzt werden.

Die neue Version bietet First-Class Support für SQL Azure Cloud Datenbanken, ADO.NET Data Services endpoints , SQLite Datenbanken, MySQL Enterprise und Community Datebanken und eigene Datenquellen. Darüber hinaus soll sie folgende Verbesserungen enthalten:

• With multi-statement queries, results appear as soon as data becomes available
• You can write static classes with your own extension methods in queries of type C# Program - with no special tricks!
• You can inject hyperlinks into the output that can spawn new queries - via the new HyperLinq class
• The output window features new buttons to export results to Excel and Word
• SSL connections are supported
• There's a new 'Execute Shell' command that runs an OS command, redirecting output to LINQPad's results window
• There are new customization options, including options to control tabs, indenting and column widths.
