JAX, Enterprise Architektur Konferenz and Eclipse Forum Europe will take place at the same time, in the same building. Enrolling for Eclipse Forum Europe qualifies you to attend all sessions and workshops at our JAX and Enterprise Architektur Konferenz (EAKon) for no additional fee! JAX sessions concentrate on traditional Java topics, frameworks, and development techniques. The EAKon complements JAX by looking at the wider picture, going beyond the scope of Java and Eclipse to cover SOA-related techniques and integration of heterogeneous environments

The Management Day (May 8) focuses on the business and management aspects of Java EE and the like. This event is formulated to equip project managers and other IT decision makers with know-how on what to take into account in order to realize projects in time, and in budget. The event will also provide business decision makers a platform where they can share their experiences on which concepts and procedures have proven their worth, and have their queries answered on various issues such as how to ready businesses for SOA, what challenges will one meet as far as offshoring is concerned, and much more. The Management Day combines expert knowledge with strategic information that helps and equips you to make better decisions, increase the efficacy of your projects and thus build your business.

The Spring Day is new at JAX (May 8). A whole range of expert lectures is designed to provide attendees with in-depth knowledge of the Spring framework and its surrounding industry. Attendees who are already familiar with the concepts of the framework will have the opportunity to collect highly specialized information on all aspects of the framework, and gain from the know-how imparted by professionals who’ve successfully realized their projects using Spring.

All-day Power Workshops on Monday (May 8) and Thursday (May 11) give attendees the opportunity to enhance their know-how on the major technologies. Adept speakers will share their knowledge and cover all aspects of the topic at hand. Power Workshops start at 9 a.m. and finish at 4.30 in the afternoon.

You can put together your own custom conference program, picking your favourites from more than 30 sessions on offer at Eclipse Forum Europe and about 100 sessions lined up for JAX and EAKon (Tuesday, May 9; Wednesday, May 10; and Thursday, May 11). To make your task easier, we have grouped the sessions into various technology tracks. Each session will be for 75 minutes.

Coffee and snacks are available during breaks between sessions on the main conference days and Power Workshop days. Additionally, attendees can enjoy a fabulous luncheon on all the conference days they are booked for.

The exhitbition that accompanies the main conference is a platform to gather information on the innovative products and solutions on display in the exhibition hall, to learn more about the businesses, and to establish relationships with the people behind them.

Top of the line speakers from the industry will deliver the opening keynotes on each day. These eminent decision makers of the software industry will comment on major trends and present their vision for the future of enterpise computing.

The Eclipse Nite gives everybody with an interest in Eclipse the chance to discuss technical questions and challenges with designated experts at a round table. Whether plug-in development, rich client projects, or further Eclipse-related topics: a whole bunch of Eclipse professionals will provide important information and best practices on Tuesday night, May 9.

After the elaborate conference sessions on Tuesday (May 9) and Wednesday (May 10) morning, the Night Schools will prove to be an ideal ground for extensive debates on the top themes of today. While some of the sessions in the Night School sessions focus on theortical discourses, the others will lay the emphasis on practice, Night School sessions are listed in both the general session schedule and the session planner.

Birds of a feather (BOF) sessions are informal gathering where the participant sare free to bring up controversial topics. BOFs are normally hosted by several speakers at a time, giving attendees the opportunity to raise questions, give an opinion, exchange experiences, and generally discuss issues that are on top of their mind. BOF sessions are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. They are listed in the general session schedule and in the session planner.

Computers with free Internet access will be available in the exhibition area. Attendees who bring their own laptops can use Wireless LAN to go online.

JAX jogging is part of the social program at JAX. Attendees will meet in the entrance hall at Eclipse Forum Europe on Tuesday (May 9) and Wednesday (May 10) evening and go on a light jog for approximately 30 to 45 minutes. So don’t forget to bring your running shoes!

About two weeks after the Eclipse Forum Europe attendees will be mailed a conference CD with all the slides, source code, and examples featured in the sessions.
